Student Spotlights: Mississippi Governor's School Scholarship, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, and MSU Humanities Scholar

Four students from Hartfield have recently made headlines for their remarkable academic achievements - Levi Hill, Will Stuart, Ben Hooks, and Helen Bunger!
Helen Bunger, a senior at Hartfield Academy, was recognized for her outstanding participation in the Central Mississippi Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA). Selected as the sole representative from Hartfield, Helen joined nearly fifty other high school students from across the state to delve into personal and leadership development under the guiding principle of "Service Above Self." This honor not only highlights Helen’s leadership qualities but also emphasizes the values of community service instilled in Mississippi's students.

Meanwhile, Ben Hooks has been named the Mississippi State University Humanities Scholar for the year 2024. As one of only fifteen scholars selected statewide, Ben will attend the MSU Humanities Camp at the College of Arts and Sciences this summer. This prestigious camp offers scholars a unique opportunity to explore the humanities through expert lectures, experiential learning, and engaging field trips. Ben’s achievement reflects not only his academics but also his dedication to intellectual exploration.

In another recognition, Levi Hill and Will Stuart have been accepted into the Mississippi Governor's School (MGS), an honors program designed for students with exceptional abilities and achievements. During the two-week program in June, MGS scholars immerse themselves in rigorous interdisciplinary courses, participate in team-building exercises, and forge lifelong friendships. Levi and Will’s acceptance into MGS emphasizes their academic excellence and potential to make a lasting impact on their communities.
As these students continue to excel and inspire others, their achievements serve as a testament to their bright futures. Congratulations to Helen Bunger, Ben Hooks, Levi Hill, and Will Stuart for their remarkable accomplishments.
