Hartfield Academy Girls Basketball Wins State Championship

Hartfield Academy’s Girls Basketball team competed in the MAIS 4A State Championship on Saturday, February 22nd against Simpson Academy. This was the first Championship win for the girls’ basketball team.

Along with winning the first 4A State Championship in school history for girls’ basketball, the following records were broken by this extraordinary team: most wins in a season, longest win streak, first undefeated district record, first regular season District Championship, first Regional Championship, and first MAIS Overall Tournament appearance in which they advanced to the Semi-Final game. It was a monumental year for the Lady Hawks, and Coach Benton Ingram and Assistant Coach Trudy Dawkins are incredibly proud of each player’s hard work all season.

This season’s historic feats were accomplished due to tremendous leadership from Hartfield Seniors Millie Myers, Zoe Peevy, Helena Roe, Macie Rogers, and Annie Sullivan.
