Congratulations to the Class of 2023!
The 2022-2023 Senior Class are officially Hartfield graduates, but we cannot let them embark on the next step of God's journey for their lives without a few words of encouragement from their favorite teachers!
Coach Pittman: "To the class of 2023- I love y’all so much! I am so proud of each of you. You were the best first class of students I could’ve asked for in my first year at Hartfield. The growth I saw in each of you from August to May was so inspiring. Thank you for challenging me and allowing me to grow with you. I know each of you is capable of doing amazing things, and I can’t wait to watch. When you do your taxes for the first time, remember where you first learned how to do it!"
Mrs. Ownby: "I have loved spending time with each of you. As an English teacher, I always find the words of Henry David Thoreau so poignant for seniors, "If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected . . . If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.” Y'all have strong foundations. Do not forget where you come from and who you are. I wish you the best and love you!"
Amy Thornton: "I am so thankful I came at a time that allowed me to go through this year with you. I have enjoyed getting to know each one of you. You are truly an amazing group of kids and I know you will do great things! I wish you all the best. Lots of love!!"
Mrs. Kimball: "Congratulations on completing one of many amazing milestones in your life - graduation from high school!! It was a privilege to teach y'all (some PreCompII and some ENGIII), to have a wee part in your time here at Hartfield, and work through the aspect in God's creation of English/American literature together... My prayer for y'all as you leave Hartfield on to bigger and better, is what Edward Taylor prays in his poem from "Meditation 6": "Be Thou my spectacles that I may read Thine Image and Inscription stamped upon me" -- that you will seek His kingdom, soak yourselves in His Word, and see His image stamped upon you and every other human... that you will live to glorify Him in all you do... You are loved and I am so proud of all you accomplished!

Mrs. Stroh: "It has been a joy watching you grow as students, peers, and Christ-followers over the past few years. Your heart for loving others has been evident in all that you have done. From serving on mission trips to Marks, Matamoros, Brownsville, Austin, and the Dominican Republic to the way you have learned to care for your fellow students and teachers and to the way you have learned to love and cherish one another. It has been a pleasure walking alongside you as you have journeyed these roads. You will be missed walking the halls of this school but I am so excited to watch you step into a new adventure. I pray that as you go the Lord continues to use you in the lives of those around you - on your hallways, in your sororities, in your jobs, and eventually in your own families. May The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. I am always cheering you on!"

This final year of high school has passed, and you are all moving forward in life. While the road ahead may not be easy, I will always be there for each of you. My door will always be open, even if it's just to say hey.
Keep these things in mind as you enter into your first year of college or the workforce:
1. This may sound cliche, but stop to smell the roses every now and again. Don't be in a rush to get to the next graduation or milestone. There are so many memories to make and things to experience.
2. Next, be confident yet humble.
3. Most importantly, praise God for all He has made and done. Keep God at the center of your life, and desire to have a relationship with Him."
