Hartfield Students Work Alongside We Will Go for Arise Day of Service

We Will Go are neighbors willing to engage their community with the love of Christ, and Hartfield Middle School students came alongside them in that mission this semester for their Arise Day projects. Hartfield students and staff experienced the heart of Jesus during these serve days, forging a relationship that has much room to grow and flourish as the Gospel brings life change in Jackson, Mississippi.
"Arise Days are a highlight of what we get to do in the spiritual life department at Hartfield Academy," said Spiritual Life staff member and Bible teacher, Kim Stroh. "Middle School is an incredible time to introduce loving our neighbors by way of hard work and self-sacrificing service, and We Will Go sets an excellent example of that."

According to their website, We Will Go accomplishes their mission by "offering opportunities for people to be a part of something bigger, connecting the Gospel to real life through unique and meaningful experiences to serve. We know first-hand that God can take a simple 'yes' to Christ and transform our lives from the inside out. God’s work here on earth is fulfilled when we are all doing our part. Through providing practical ways for people to get involved, We Will Go has a place for everyone. Our ministries include various activities related to Education, Employment, and Essential food and hygiene".

"(We Will Go) does a wonderful job of reaching out to the people that they interact with on a daily basis," adds Stroh. "This provides our students an opportunity to be a part of good work that is happening right down the road, in their 'hometown' that many of them have never been to before. Serving with ministries like We Will Go shows us what practically loving people looks like! We are thankful to get to be a part of what we will go is all about."

Ashten Jones, Engagement Director of We Will Go Ministries, spoke of her experience hosting Hartfield students at We Will Go: "We loved pouring Truth into them, sharing the heart of Jesus, and lots of testimonies. The Hartfield middle schoolers helped us a lot. We appreciate Hartfield’s commitment to sharing the Gospel with their students and families, and we are honored as We Will Go to be a part of this."

While the We Will Go team enjoyed the days spent with our middle school students, they hope that it is only the beginning of a meaningful journey of serving together. "We pray all the seeds sown in hearts to find good soil and many lost souls come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior!" she shared. "Please keep praying for We Will Go and for our beautiful capital city of Jackson! We are praying for Hartfield, also, every day!"
