Hartfield Passport to Purpose

Hartfield Passport to Purpose

At Hartfield Academy, we believe spiritual formation is a lifelong journey, and we are committed to equipping students to walk closely with Christ during these formative years. The Hartfield Passport to Purpose is a uniquely designed initiative that serves as a personal record of each student’s spiritual growth, both experiential and intellectual, throughout their junior high and high school years.

What is the Passport to Purpose?

Beginning in 7th grade, every student receives a personal journal Bible, which becomes a living testimony of God’s faithfulness in their life. As students progress through upper school, they mark spiritual milestones, reflect on biblical truth, and document the ways God is shaping their hearts and minds.

This deeply intentional project gives students the opportunity to look back on their years at Hartfield and clearly see God’s hand at work—His compounding mercies written on the pages of Scripture and in the pages of their lives. Beginning in the 2025–2026 school year, every Upper School student in grades 7–12 will receive a beautifully bound, leather-like journal Bible to document their spiritual journey at Hartfield, made possible through the generous support of the Hartfield community.

How It Works:

Scripture Passages:
  • Each year will be highlighted in the Bible using that grade level's unique color, journaling key takeaways from the teachings of that scripture
Spiritual Milestone Timeline:
  • Updated annually, noting moments like salvation, baptism, mission trips, retreats, and answered prayers
Spiritual Reflection Journaling:
  • At the beginning and end of each year, students identify where they are on their spiritual journey
Grade-Level Activities:
  • Students will participate in a specific, grade-level activity led by their Bible teacher that challenges them to dig deeper spiritually, reflect on the biblical truths they’ve learned that year, and thoughtfully engage with a culture that requires them to defend their faith. These experiences will also include opportunities to interact with mature believers and grow in articulating a biblical worldview. Each year’s activity will culminate in a color-coded stamp in their Bible, unique to their grade level, along with a handwritten note from their Bible teacher affirming their growth and participation
The Hartfield Passport to Purpose is more than a program; it’s a reflection of who we are as a school. Rooted in our mission to see every student fulfill their God-given purpose, this passport program is intentionally designed for the Hartfield experience. With each passing year, students not only grow in their faith but also build a personal legacy of transformation that is distinctly marked by their time at Hartfield.
Hartfield Academy is fully accredited by both the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the MidSouth Association of Independent Schools (MAIS), the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Southern Association of independent Schools (SAIS).
