Hartfield Hawks

Welcome to Hartfield Academy! 

Hartfield offers a full range of varsity, junior varsity, middle school and
elementary athletics in 14 different sports. We believe that athletics is a
vital component in the growth and development of young people.
Because of this, we are committed to helping each of our sports teams
compete at the highest level, to reach their full potential and most of all
to have fun in the process. The success of our teams and support
groups will continue to be evident by outstanding work ethic, sacrifice
and the desire to be the best both in athletic competition and in the
classroom.

The Hartfield Athletic Department is recognized for developing student
athletes to reach their full potential while building Christian character
in the lives of our students in a Christ-centered environment. We are
blessed with an outstanding coaching staff that can serve as mentors to
help each student athlete in opportunities of leadership, perseverance
through adversity, skill development, and mental and physical
discipline. More importantly, our staff is charged with pointing each
student toward a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ as they strive for
excellence in the athletic arena. It is indeed a pleasure to work with our
athletic staff as we provide mission centered opportunities for our
students.
We look forward to seeing you at our athletic events this year as we
support our Hawks and Lady Hawks.

    With great excitement, Hartfield Academy celebrated the signing of four seniors! On Friday, April 29th, Isabella Carr, Ashlyn Willis, Josh Walker, and Emily McNemar signed to play at the next level. We are incredibly proud of each of these players and thrilled for what is to come in the future as collegiate-level athletes.

    Hartfield Parents & Students in the Girls Basketball Program and School Community, 

    I am grateful for a fantastic group of leaders among our faculty and athletic teams at Hartfield and am excited to introduce a new coach that will add to our school and its mission. 

    After a patient and thorough search to find the leader of our girls basketball program it is our pleasure to announce Coach Mark Alexander as the next head coach for our team and girls program. Coach Alexander has the motivation, knowledge, and qualifications to build upon the winning tradition already established in our program.

  • Congratulations to our Clarion-Ledger nominees for the Mississippi High School Sports Awards!

    Hartfield Academy is represented throughout three athletic programs when it comes to the athlete of the year in volleyball, swim and cross country. Because of their nomination, they each will be given the opportunity to be a part of the Mississippi High School Sports Awards show which is the largest high school sports recognition program in the country. We are incredibly proud of each player for their determination and sportsmanship this year.

  • Thank you, Hawk Club!

    The Hawk Club was created to work alongside our coaches to help bolster Hartfield Athletics by meeting practical needs within the programs. At Hartfield, we offer a competitive athletic program for students in elementary through high school and we are committed to helping every team compete at the highest level, to reach their full potential, and have fun. This year, Hartfield athletics has been competing on the MIAS 6A level and no athletic team has disappointed. We are so proud of our Hawks!

    The Hartfield Girls Softball team came ready to compete for the State Title on Saturday, October 9th and left the field as winners of the 6A Fast Pitch State Championship! Led by head coach, Julie McKinney, the girls pulled out victorious in game three with a final score of 3-2.

  • Brandon Buckhaulter Signs With The University of Mississippi

    With great excitement, Hartfield Academy is proud to celebrate the signing day for Senior, Brandon Buckhaulter. Buckhaulter signed to play football with The University of Mississippi and will begin school this Spring, making Hartfield Football history as the first athlete to early-enroll to a Division I football program.

  • Hartfield and Community Bank Leaders Celebrate Community Bank Field

    Whether you're a Hawks football fan sitting in the stands, Hartfield fifth grader at P.E., or Lady Hawks soccer player securing yet another big win, Community Bank Field has been a most exciting addition to our community. To celebrate the unveiling of Community Bank Field, Hartfield Academy was given the esteemed pleasure to welcome Mr. Thomas Colbert, Community Bank Senior Chairman of the Board, along with other Community Bank executives for two special field dedication visits this month. We are confident that we are only seeing the beginning of unprecedented community impact thanks to this significant project, and we have Community Bank along with several other dedicated supporters to thank for what lies ahead for the Hartfield family.

    With student safety as our highest priority, the decision has been made to cancel this Friday’s Varsity football game against Magnolia Heights School as they work through health concerns. As a result of this forfeit, the Hawks will advance to the 2nd round of playoffs on Friday, November 6th at Leake Academy.

    The Hartfield Girls Soccer team came ready to defend their State Title on Monday, October 12th and left the field as back to back winners of the MAIS Division II Championship. Led by coach, Jake Benton, the girls turned the game around at the half to win 4-1.

    The Hartfield Hawks have had a momentous season so far. 

    Football season signaled the beginning of a long-awaited return to “normal” for many Hawk fans. Though many events have been limited, large outdoor gatherings have continued with safety measures in place, and we have been able to begin our football season even in the midst of challenges.
