Visual Art

Our Art Program is a comprehensive curriculum that begins in Preschool and advances through High School.

In Preschool and Elementary, students begin to learn the fundamentals of art. Our dedicated art teachers focus on drawing, sculpture, and painting techniques. Students learn balance, shape, color and rhythm all while having fun and expressing their own creativity through each piece.

Students then transition into introductory courses at the Middle school level and advanced courses through High School. Art history and the principles of design are explored through a wide range of media including colored pencil, chalk pastel, charcoal, watercolor, oils, and acrylic paint. Students are also exposed to specialty media and methods including printmaking, mixed media collage, sculpture and ceramics.
Hartfield Academy is fully accredited by both the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the MidSouth Association of Independent Schools (MAIS), the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Southern Association of independent Schools (SAIS).
