Hartfield Announces Summer Projects: Including Community Bank Field!

It is going to be a busy summer as we make improvements on our Main Campus!  Like every summer, we will take time to make sure our campus is in excellent condition to welcome back students in August. But this summer will be special, thanks to several generous donors and corporate partners!

Beginning mid-May, Hartfield will begin updating several important outdoor areas including: a new high-quality turf athletic field, new turf for the elementary playground on our main campus, and a new track with facilities to accommodate field events like discus, shot put, high jump and long jump. We are excited for this update and thankful to the following donors, whose generosity has fully funded these improvements: Community Bank, Ergon, Regional Enterprises, Oakdale Animal Hospital, Simpson Orthodontics, Dogwood Pediatric Dentistry, Neese Custom Homes, Miskelly Furniture, and Chick-fil-A. The Hartfield Hawk Club, our school’s patron-led athletic booster club, is also contributing to this project.

The impact of these updates will be felt across multiple levels and has the opportunity to impact all of our students. We look forward to showing off these transformed facilities in August when we welcome everyone back to campus!

Frequently Asked Questions:

How is this project being funded?
While we traditionally budget for several updates over the summer, these updates have been fully funded through the generosity of several individual donors and corporate partners.  Their commitment to our growing school is allowing us to move forward with this project without using operating expenses and without incurring any debt.

Will this update only impact athletics?
No.  Along with sports like elementary, junior high, and varsity football, track and field, and boys and girls soccer, these facility upgrades will greatly improve the play area for every elementary student as well as their PE programs. Special events like Hart & Soul, Field Day, and Homecoming will also be enhanced by these improvements.

When will the project take place?
The project will begin Mid-May and be complete in time for the beginning of the 2020 school year.  Planning for this project began in 2019 and was completed in late February.

Will the field be named?
Yes!  Our new field will be named ‘Community Bank Field’. We are grateful for their ongoing support and partnership!

Will the track be resurfaced?
The track is getting a full-face lift!  As of now, our asphalt track surface has not been in a condition to host meets and is in disrepair. This updated rubber surface will allow us to host meets and will be a great resource for Hartfield student-athletes of multiple programs..

Why are you resurfacing the elementary playground?
The playground on our Main Campus gets a lot of play! The new turf surface will keep the area dry and green through every type of weather, making this area more usable and kid-friendly!

Are there other ways to support Hartfield and programs I care about?
There are always programs and projects that benefit our students that could use your support. Never hesitate to contact our school’s leadership if you desire to help. One way you can support athletics going forward would be to be a part of our Hawk Club this coming year.

Hartfield wouldn’t exist without the generous support of our patrons and community partners like you, Thank You!
