Congratulations to the 2019-2020 Valedictorian and Salutatorian!

Hartfield Academy is thrilled to announce the Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the 2019-2020 school year! Both distinctions are an incredible honor, and Hartfield Academy is proud of both Hannah and Sohan, for their hard work in the classroom and in life.
Hannah has been a member of National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and has gone on a mission trip during Spring Break with Hartfield. Hannah is most proud of being chosen as a Mississippi Christian Living “Christian Leader of the Future”, and being a member of Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy. She is also proud of earning a place in the “30-Plus Club” for scoring above a 30 on the ACT, and has received multiple scholarships to Mississippi State for her combined achievements. Hannah is also proud of her position on the Varsity basketball team for two of her four years at Hartfield. Hannah plans to attend Mississippi State this fall with a major in Kinesiology. She has the following advice for younger students: “Take advantage of the way the faculty pours into you. The environment they build and love they give truly can't be found anywhere else other than Hartfield. These teachers genuinely care about you and will do whatever they can in order to help you succeed now and into the future both spiritually and academically. Work hard and dedicate yourself to school, but have fun and enjoy these years in the process.” Hannah, like other seniors, sees Hartfield Academy as a family. “The teachers and faculty come alongside every student daily to see them reach their full potential,” says Hannah. “As much as I have learned strictly from the books here, I've learned just as much about life in general from teachers' advice and life stories. They make pouring into us spiritually a priority and are always there no matter what you may need. The environment built here is completely up to how much you put yourself out there. If you invest into others and take the time to get to know the people here for you, you will not be disappointed.” Hannah’s favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 13:1-3.
Sohan Patel has been a member of National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Mock Trial, Youth Legislature, and served on a Spring Break mission trip. Of his high school accomplishments, Sohan is most proud of becoming Student Body Vice President and President of Interact Club, as well as being awarded multiple Headmaster awards throughout high school. Sohan is also a member of the “30-Plus Club” for scoring a 30 or above on the ACT. Sohan will attend Purdue University in the fall, where he plans to major in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. He describes Hartfield Academy as a “very friendly” place, and he advises younger students that “It’s not over until it’s over. Fight for that extra point.” Sohan’s favorite Bible verse is Matthew 6:9-13.

Congratulations, Hannah and Sohan!
