The spring and summer of 2020 has certainly kept us all on our toes, and many of us have had to adjust to changing circumstances - from school events to daily life. A significant part of summer life at Hartfield has endured with familiar excitement: Hartfield Academy Summer Camps!
Summer camps kicked off with three camps for Week One: Speed, Agility, and Quickness Camp, Paw Patrol: Around the Word Adventure Computer Camp, and Critical and Creative Thinking Camp. All three were a success, with each camper taking away new lessons and memories gained. Craig Bowman, a football coach and teacher at Hartfield, described Speed, Agility, and Quickness Camp as a “a huge success!” He continues,
“We spent the week learning the basics of proper running form and performing drills to reinforce those basics. We ended every day with the game "Sharks and Minnows" which is always a camp favorite. One of our younger campers told his mom that he wished that he could come to Speed Camp at Hartfield every day of the summer!”
Along with Speed, Agility, and Quickness Camp, campers who attended Critical Thinking Camp and Paw Patrol - Computer Camp spent their mornings challenging themselves and building relationships through problem solving, creative thinking, and other exercises. This week, campers have had a blast attending Computer Explorers Camp (“Spa Surprises: Discover Relaxation Through Chemistry and Engineering”), Jewelry-Making Camp, and Upper School Art Camp. The past few days, girls and boys have been able to express their creative and strategic gifts while making memories with their peers.
We have had such a blast with our students, and it’s only been two weeks of Summer Camps! If your child has not had an opportunity to come to camp, now is the time to sign up for upcoming camps! Camps are scheduled through the end of July and include Boys and Girls Basketball Camp, several age-group and skill-based Baseball Camps, Cheer and Dance Camp, Football Camp, Soccer Camp, Softball Camp, and Volleyball Camp. There is also an Elementary Art Camp the last week of June. We hope to see your kids at camp this summer!
Hartfield Academy is fully accredited by both the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the MidSouth Association of Independent Schools (MAIS), the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Southern Association of independent Schools (SAIS).
