Hartfield Academy Girls Soccer Team Wins State (Again!)

The Hartfield Girls Soccer team came ready to defend their State Title on Monday, October 12th and left the field as back to back winners of the MAIS Division II Championship. Led by coach, Jake Benton, the girls turned the game around at the half to win 4-1.
Carson Turner is credited for starting the game turn around with an early goal in the second half, followed by Kaitlyn Elliott who scored an impressive hat trick.

As far as seasons go, the team competed with their best record yet: 15-2-2. The team also set a new school record with 102 goals scored. Meanwhile, their opponents were only able to score a mere 14 goals against the Lady Hawks.

The powerhouse team also celebrates the achievements of several players. Carson Turner, Annellise Bell, and Taylor Phillips were selected for the MAIS All-Star Award as well as All District Awards. Additionally, Raegan Tucker was selected for All District Awards.

A special congratulations is due to seniors, Carson Turner and Taylor Phillips, who will graduate as the most decorated athletes in school history. They both began their varsity career in the 7th grade and have have played in five State Championship games and won two State Titles.

Head Coach, Jake Benton, is extremely proud of his team. "Coming off last year's State Championship win, I knew this was going to be a special year. We had only graduated two seniors and had a solid team. In fact, this was the most talented group to date. From top to bottom the level of play never dropped. This team was capable of beating anybody when they were switched on. This is a team I'll never forget"

Congratulations to the Lady Hawks Soccer Team! We are incredibly proud of your team work and successes!
