Mrs. Betty Rhodes is this Year's Rankin County Teacher of the Year!

Mrs. Betty Rhodes, a Hartfield second grade teacher, has been named the 2022 Rankin County Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Rhodes has been with Hartfield from the very beginning and she pours her entire heart into her classroom - especially the value she brings to her students! This award requires going above and beyond the regular duties of a teacher to truly make an impact on a school, district, or community. We believe Mrs. Rhodes is all that and more.
"To be named Teacher Of the Year makes my heart burst with gratitude! My administrators saw my passion and love for teaching and nominated me to represent Hartfield! It is an amazing feeling to honor and glorify my Savior in this special way!" shared Mrs. Rhodes when asked about her feelings when announced. She is selfless in all ways and truly puts her students' needs above all - this is what makes her an incredible teacher! With over 50 years of teaching, she has been a part of so many children's lives. She shares with us her favorite part, above all else, about being a classroom teacher. "My favorite part of teaching is being able to learn about the whole child, and pray that I can be a small part of planting the seeds that will help them be successful emotionally, spiritually, and academically as they fulfill their God-given purpose!" Hartfield is blessed to have teachers who not only educate our students academically but pour into our students spiritually. Those moments will be the ones these children remember forever.

Mrs. Betty Rhodes has a true desire and love for Hartfield Academy and we could not be more blessed that she is ours! As Hartfield is in its 10th year, she has been able to see the way the Lord has used this school for His glory. She has also been able to send out students who will be world changers for His kingdom. She shared a few words about why Hartfield is so special to her. "To teach at Hartfield has been such a blessing! I get to pour my love for My Lord and Savior into these precious little ones and watch them grow in His word!  I get to work with the most amazing staff who love what they do, and work for administrators who encourage and support you!  We have the very best parents!!! They are so very supportive and work closely with our staff! I couldn’t find a better place to work! I love my Hartfield!"

A big congratulations to Mrs. Rhodes on this incredible accomlishment!
