Hartfield 4th Grade Students Celebrate the Season of Giving
This Christmas, it is as important as ever to do what we can to share a spirit of giving, and Hartfield fourth graders have done just that! Each class had the opportunity to partner with one incredible organization this year - Operation Christmas Child.
This has been a long-running tradition of supporting this organization and has always been a source of excitement for our students. The week before Thanksgiving, students assembled shoeboxes to be sent to children in under-served nations as a sign of God’s love for all children. It's an incredible opportunity for our students to learn compassion toward other children because they can relate to the excitement of receiving a gift. Before dropping them off to be shipped overseas, this year’s fourth-grade class took a few moments to pray over the gift boxes. Our teachers emphasized these physical shoeboxes full of toys are just a small gift in comparison to the gift of Jesus that we celebrate at Christmas. This is always a sweet time to see our students praying for kids their age all around the world.
Our students were able to fill 90 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child this year! After praying over each box, Hartfield fourth graders sent off their gifts, to be enjoyed by children all over the world.
