Hartfield Academy Sophomore Brianna Rogers Spreads Joy Through Handmade Jump Ropes for Mission Trips

In a display of compassion and creativity, Hartfield Academy sophomore Brianna Rogers has made it her mission to spread joy to children around the world through her handmade jump ropes. Inspired by her grandmother and driven by a desire to make a difference, Brianna has dedicated her time and effort to crafting these simple yet meaningful gifts for children in need.
Brianna shared her journey, stating, "I started making jump ropes in the summer with my grandmother to send to El Salvador. It was a fun and meaningful way to contribute to others by sending jump ropes to kids worldwide." Motivated by the joy she experienced in giving, Brianna decided to extend her project to benefit Hartfield Academy mission trips, aiming to share the same joy with children in various communities.

The process of making jump ropes, as described by Brianna, is both resourceful and impactful. Using donated T-shirts, she cuts them into long strips and braids three strips together to form the ropes. While the process may vary in time depending on the length of the rope, Brianna pours her heart into each creation, recognizing the potential impact it may have on a child's life.

Brianna's initiative has gathered support from family, friends, and the community. With the help of her mother, grandmother, and fellow students at Hartfield Academy, Brianna has assembled close to 200 jump ropes for upcoming mission trips.

Reflecting on her journey, Brianna expressed her excitement, stating, "I could not be more excited to hopefully bring joy to these kids!" Her enthusiasm is contagious as she eagerly anticipates her upcoming trip to Guatemala during spring break, where she plans to distribute the jump ropes and witness firsthand the joy they bring to children's faces.

Driven by her faith and guided by the scripture from 1 Timothy 4:12, "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity," Brianna serves as an inspiration to her peers and the community at large. Small acts that make a big difference resonate deeply, reminding us all of the profound impact of kindness and compassion, regardless of age. Brianna’s story serves as a reminder that, indeed, no act of kindness is ever too small!
