Hartfield Academy Hosts College Fair with 45 Schools Represented

Hartfield Academy recently welcomed 45 colleges, universities, and career programs to campus for our annual College Fair, giving students an incredible opportunity to explore options in higher education and beyond.
The theater was filled with representatives from all over, including large universities, private Christian colleges, military academies, and professional programs. Students were able to ask questions and learn more about academic programs, campus life, and career preparation.

Among the institutions represented were the Air Force Academy, Naval Academy, Mississippi State University, University of Mississippi, University of Alabama, Louisiana State University, Samford University, Mercer University, and Tufts University. Christian schools such as Belhaven University, Blue Mountain Christian University, Union University, and William Carey University were also present, alongside local options like Hinds Community College, Holmes Community College, and Jackson State University.

In addition to traditional colleges, programs like Build Mississippi, Community Bank, and UMMC’s Schools of Nursing and Health Related Professions gave students a broader perspective of opportunities available after graduation.

Jim DeLaughter, Hartfield’s Upper School Head, emphasized how valuable this event is for students preparing to take their next steps. “It’s about exposure,” Amy Thornton, high school counselor, said. “Our goal is for every student to leave with a clearer picture of the opportunities ahead and the confidence to pursue where God is leading them.”

The fair highlighted Hartfield’s commitment to equipping students to fulfill their God-given purpose, whether through higher education, service, or professional training. For juniors and seniors, it was an exciting reminder that the next chapter of their journey is just around the corner!
