This semester, our high school students participated in a meaningful new study on one of the most important questions they will ever ask: Who am I and who has God created me to be?
In a culture that offers shifting definitions of identity and purpose, Hartfield remains committed to anchoring students in something unchanging: the truth of God’s Word. As 2 Timothy 3:16–17 reminds us, Scripture is “God-breathed” and equips believers for every good work. If we desire our students to be complete and prepared for what lies ahead, then helping them understand biblical manhood and biblical womanhood is essential.
Because God uniquely designed men and women and because they face distinct challenges, our young men and young women met separately to explore what Scripture teaches about godliness. All available male faculty members joined the young men, and all available female faculty members joined the young women.
Female faculty members walked the girls through four foundational qualities:
The Heart of a Godly Woman
The Hands of a Godly Woman
The Character of a Godly Woman
The Legacy of a Godly Woman
Students were reminded that godly womanhood begins from the inside out. A heart surrendered to Christ shapes character, actions, and ultimately legacy. In a world that often prizes outward image and temporary success, our young women were encouraged to pursue what is eternal and priceless, a life rooted in Christ.
Male faculty members guided the young men through four pillars of biblical manhood:
Courageously Following God’s Word
Loving and Protecting God’s Woman
Excelling at God’s Work
Bettering God’s World
These pillars point back to God’s original design and call young men to reject cultural confusion in favor of God’s clear and steady standard. Students were challenged to recognize that everything belongs to God.
On February 23rd, the series concluded with a special alumni panel. Hartfield graduates returned to campus to answer questions and share how these truths have shaped their lives beyond high school. Hearing firsthand how biblical identity continues to guide them in college, work, and relationships brought the series full circle. It was a wonderful reminder that what is planted here can bear fruit for years to come!
We left encouraged and grateful for honest conversations and thankful for leaders who continue to reflect Christ well. Everything we do at Hartfield shapes who students are becoming, and we remain committed to forming young men and women who love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.
